Wawel Cathedral – Entrance fee
·         The entry to just the Cathedral is free of charge but if you wish to tour the Sigismund Bell, Royal Tombs and Cathedral Museum you are supposed to buy the ticket and the adult ticket costs 12 PLN but children, school youth, students, teachers, senior citizens and pensioners, no matter if they are from Poland or abroad, are eligible to get CONCESSION TICKETS upon presenting the relevant document.

·         The impressive way of sightseeing is an audio-guided tour. The tour near the Wawel Cathedral and up the Sigismund Bell tower can be completed within 30 minutes, the Royal Tombs in 10 minutes, and the Cathedral Museum can be toured in about 20 minutes. 

·         Renting the audio guide costs 7 PLN.

You can arrive at the Wawel Cathedral by public transportation and the nearest tram stop is WAWEL.

The John Paul II Cathedral Museum is located on Wawel Hill. The cathedral was constructed from two 14th century buildings. Its eastern part, abutting the Vasa Gate, was formerly a row house built in the time of Kazimierz the Great, which had been in the hands of the Rorantists of the Sigismund Chapel since the 16th century. The Gothic House – seat of the college of Cathedral Mansionaries who carried out the sacrament in St Mary’s Chapel – forms the western part.

Is Wawel castle free?
The Castle does not sell tickets on-line.
Payment can be made by any bank card, debit card or credit card. There are two ATMs which are placed on Wawel Hill. Admission to Wawel Hill and to the Arcaded Courtyard is absolutely free of charge.

How long does Wawel castle take?
The gardens and walls make be toured in an hour and a half to two hours. There are jaw dropping and magnificent views over the city. Keep enough time in hands or may be an extra good 3 or 4 hours to look around completely or take the whole day if you have the time. Enjoy your trip!
